It's the end of October and fall is officially in full swing. To celebrate my favorite season, I thought I'd share a couple of pairs with a fall theme.
For the longest time I kept trying to cut a perfect one inch circle to put in my smaller bezels. Why? I have no idea...cutting circles is super hard! I finally took the time to find the correct sized punch for those little buggers and now am having some fun with the TierrCast bezels that have been in my stash for quite some time.

For both of these pairs I cut some fun fall scrap booking paper with my new punch and then poured in UV resin over the top (after sealing everything, of course). The orange leafy pair sold at the Art Wander, but I've added the pumpkin pair to my Etsy shop. You can see the listing HERE.
Congrats on being featured again at AJE, Sarajo! I am intrigued by your resin skills... is it very difficult to do? I bought a small bottle of LP resin ages ago but never tried it, as I lack a UV light. But now I am thinking you may be right about acquiring the correct tools :) I love these pretty themed-design earrings which are subtle enough to be worn year-round... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Monique! Overall I've found it to be pretty easy to use. Sometimes the UV resin can be tricky, but mostly in getting all the bubbles out of it before you cure it. I've found that if you take a lit match and move it above the surface that it helps bring the bubbles to the top and get them out. You just don't want to get the heat too close to the resin and keep it moving. I find it fun and have started playing with adding things to the resin. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to attempt the 2 part resin!
DeleteI've played with resin some but it's never stuck with me. Using beautiful paper is a great idea and the earrings are really nice!
